I have always loved photographing weddings at The Bell, Ticehurst. While from the outside, it has the appearance you might expect of an old country pub, on the inside, it possesses a quirkiness that brings the personality of the venue to life mixed with a warm informality that will have your wedding guests feeling relaxed from the minute they walk through the door.
Situated close to the Kent and East Sussex border in the countryside, you will be well taken care of at The Bell, with a high standard of professional service from the venue’s staff who will make sure your every wedding need is catered for on your important day. A perfect choice if you are having a more intimate wedding, The Bell is a licensed venue and can accommodate up to 80 guests for the ceremony and reception and up to 120 guests for the evening reception.
The Bell houses seven delightful hotel rooms and also four rustic lodges nestled in the grounds surrounding a giant fire pit which are all uniquely designed with imagination and an element of humour that makes you smile the minute you walk in. The Love Nest is the lodge of choice for newly-weds which features an ingenious birds nest design above its entrance and a fabulous cosy round room. The giant bed and free standing copper bath for you to relax in after all the excitement of your wedding day, makes it the perfect escape to spend your first night together as husband and wife!
In between dinner and your evening reception, guests can retire to the bar or mingle in the ‘Stable with a Table’ which is a favourite with brides and grooms as the giant wooden table that sits in the pit of the room also doubles as a red carpet runway. A red carpet is laid down the centre of the table for the couple to make there formal entrance as husband and wife while their jubilant guests throw confetti as they walk!
The Bell uses carefully selected local produce too, so all the food you choose for your wedding meal will also be supporting the local farming and food suppliers in the area, giving it the ultimate personal feel.
So if you are looking for a venue that can provide you with a relaxed and wonderful wedding day with a cosy, quirky and intimate feel, then you really need to look no further!
