how to take better photos workshopHave you ever tried to capture a special moment on camera of your child only to be disappointed with the results? Do you have a great camera but are not really sure how to use it? Perhaps you struggle with understanding how to work with light when taking a photograph of your family? Would you like to learn how to take professional looking photos of your children or grandchildren? Do you wish you could take documentary style images that tell a story?  If the answer is yes then I can help you!

As an award winning portrait photographer, I have years of experience photographing families and children of all ages from newborns to teenagers. Being a parent to three young children, I fully understand the frustrations involved in trying to photograph your own family but I have also learned some great ways that you can capture beautiful portraits of even the most reluctant of subjects!

After being asked so many times, how its done, I am excited to announce I will now be sharing my secrets for taking great portraits in an exclusive workshop on Wednesday 22nd June 2016.  The one day course will take place at Canvaspace – a purpose built studio only minutes from central Tunbridge Wells in Kent, yet secretly tucked away amongst beautiful rolling fields that makes you feel like you are in a different place entirely!

Course Content:

  • Improve how you use your camera.
  • How to understand the basics of light (essential for taking great portraits).
  • How to work with your children to get the best out of them in front of the camera.
  • Understanding composition and what makes a great picture.

I find the best way to really learn is to practice, so there will be lots of opportunity to take photos on the day too so don’t forget your camera! You will need a good camera (either an SLR or a compact camera with manual controls).

The workshop is for anyone from beginners upwards and will run in a supportive and fun environment with like-minded people.  The course costs £150.00 and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to fit in with school hours and will include lunch and refreshments. The course is strictly limited to six places so don’t delay in booking as is likely to sell out very quickly!

Bookings are being taken through Canvaspace or you can contact me directly on: 01892 613022 or 07979 770203. Alternatively please email me at: info@sharrongoodyear.com
